@NightFox88 go with the phenom, you have 6 TRUE cores and not just 4 TRUE cores and 4 VIRTUAL cores for multithreaded programs, which theres only a couple right now, also, the amd processor and the ati cards work together with that fusion technology so you get vivid and smooth graphics with the cutting edge power of that processor. and its cheaper.
@DragonAge1103 really though u have NO idea what u r even saying. Benchmarks are designed to give u a rough idea any real PC builder (99%) of us are all about gaming care more about real results that we see in person & facts r that VERY FEW games can even challenge a 5770 let a lone a 5870, 5970, 470, 480…unless you jump to a res higher than 19×12 which is just pointless since u need several high end cards to get decent performance. if u know how to build a PC right u wont’ need a 5870 or 480
@hempzman reciting the same stupid crap over & over doesn’t make it sound better. You’re some noob wannabe. high temps=bad first lesson in PC building. Lower temps better. 1+1=2! No games uses enough tessellation to challenge either companies cards u retard. Benchmarks are ran on engines 7 other testing software that push the cards way harder than any current game can. DX11 is design to look good & run smooth. u have no idea what u r talking about at all. u couldn’t be more clueless.
@Pattonpivot Yes. I have this processor running at 4.1 ghz on all cores with a saphire 5970 overclocked and I have no problems on a msi gd70 motherboard. I’m also running 8 gb’s of DOMINATOR GT 2000 mhz memory at 1600 with 666 18 1t timings and a xfi titanium sound card and I have no issues with my system. This processor with a 5970 or two in crossfire will make for a good gaming system.
@DragonAge1103 yeah just look at benchmarks buddy and see who wins…. they are meant to run hot and they beat ati with normal games in 5870 by a little but blows it away with tesselation and there cap is like 105 degrees or something so yeah…
@hempzman haha you’re not an idiot. 10% isn’t a very large performance increase for much higher prices & very unstable cards due to heat & power consumption. Obviously keeping up to date & reading is hard for you. You’re an idiot to buy nvidia. Facts are facts Intel great, AMD great, ATI also pretty awesome but nvidia is pure trash. They have better driver support which is pointless if the card runs so poorly. thanks for being an idiot though!!
@DragonAge1103 umm yeah that isnt true? DX11 is going to be using a lot of tesselation, which nvidia kills ati with. That power consumption and heat genration turns into better performance…. nvidia isnt for hardcore fan boys actually buddy.. im going there because dx11 is using tesselation and nvidia prevails in that aspect by a lot so dont go saying this shit because your an ati fanboy. thanks
@Naro323 nvidia has a slight edge in DX11 performance but you’ll pay more & also deal with higher power consumption & a lot more heat output than any ATI card. Nvidia is really only for hardcore fan boys who just can’t let go. They are over priced junk now & have been for years since the 8800GT.
@NightFox88 i7 930 and 1055T? maybe you mean the 1090T(1055t’s price range is only at intel i5′s level) it really depends on what you do actually. had a similar dilemma but decided to get the 1090T. it was pure awesomeness. overclocking it to 4.1ghz was so easy!
I’m building a new computer with the ATI Radeon HD 5770 – 1GB, and I’m having trouble deciding between the i7 930 and phenom x6 1055. I’ll be mostly using the computer for gaming so I’m wondering which will be better?

it is not worth to buy this cpu, because the 1055T is so much cheapter and only clocks 400 mthz less. And overclocking the 1055T to 1090T-Niveau is really simple.

@EddieLolz3r go with the 1055, cheaper and there are not really that many multithreaded programs out there right now.

@traingp7 Alright, thanks broo.

hey man i basically bought what you have, the only difference is i have a 5970 is that gonna make a big difference in performance

Can anyone please explain to me what the cache on a CPU is?

@oskulock this is very true!
can’t wait till payday
6 mother fuckin cores….WHAT !?…WHAT!? lol
@Naro323 AMD Phenom II x6 1055t/1090t is WAYYY, better than i7, also ATI kicks Nvidias ass….

take out all the X
so what do u think about the i7 is it better and also whats better ati or geforce

@bananskalet1
similar. it depends on the application.
wut cooler?
