as far as i know, which also want to share with all GNU Linux fellows, the 8.9″ mini laptop Yeeloong 8089 is available now in Holland, sold by the lemote distributor: tekmote.
I asked on the forums and then the CEO sent me one, but they didn’t hire me. I have been involved with Slackware for a few years now so I know the distribution inside out.
You can mail me at psychicistnonconformist at gmail dot com.
I wish you the best luck in the name of one of the oldest (still working) GNU/Linux distribution.
Allow me to ask, who sent you one?. Did the manufacturers hired you?.
Yes! They sent me one so I could port Slackware to it and it is functionally complete. It’s not only Slackware but hundreds of extra applications. I have identical x86 and Loongson versions and have a fresh Sun SPARC port that will also be completely identical soon. The DRI problem is something I will have to solve myself.
do you own one? if so, awesome (how did you get it?). to be honest i really want to put my hands on one of these.
maybe the slackware community can help you and might find a patch of it (did you tried to run the X server to accelarete OpenGL?)
It is really fast for its clock speed, wait for faster and better versions coming out soon! My current one is running Slackware 12.0 (+ applications), I haven’t managed to get DRI working yet.
it’s a great computer, and it’s really cheap, I wish someone sells this computers in my country.
It’s my first time to see real show from loogson cpu, very impressive!
That CPU is all I need!
The clip is provided by youbest on Lemote BBS. By Feb 1 Linuxers had finished 3D driver and Beryl for Lemote Box with Loongson 2E inside. Obviously, Beryl is not running very fast on this 666MHz Loongson with ATI 7000M(driver of which is writen by foxsen, another Linuxer). However, it does run.
wtf did he say :S
i would take ati any day over nvidia
Im a huge supporter of AMD, especially the Phenom II. But ATI still needs to improve a bit for me to switch from Nvidia. They are heading in the right direction, though.
Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i’m going to working on.

amd and nvidia is the way i prefer because an amd proc is good performance for the price and nvidia is always better than ati in performance and not much different in price
AMD is better becouse is low cost but high performance and excellent for gaming!
And AMD hear their customers, they heard me and made Fusion!!! (No joke)
I Have An Intel And Nvidia Computer But I Must Say I Prefer AMD And ATI Over What I Have Because It’s Simpler, Faster And Easier To Set Up And Run… Therefore My Next PC Will Be An AMD & ATI Setup!!!
AMD FTW! *high five*
amd rocks
